The Brunts Year 11 Prom took place on Tuesday 25th June and was a huge success with all the students. This prom marked a special change in how we have undertaken them before, with the whole school leaving together and returning together on coaches, symbolising the community cohesion we have held together so strongly over the course of the previous academic year. The Prom was held at Goosedale in Nottingham and it was a no expense spared event. The pupils had worked hard over the year to fundraise and managed to raise a huge £7000 towards their event to ensure it was the best one yet. They were delighted to be offered a full sit down meal consisting of starters and main, with a sweet cart designed and made by members of our Prom committee. We were treated to some fantastic cupcakes made by a local business for us along with this also.
Students revelled in the prom awards with many accolades going to pupils deserving of them throughout the year. Prom king and queen was inevitably the most anticipated of the evening though. Following the awards and our meals the pupils were able to spend the remaining time enjoying the company of their friends and teachers as the DJ played with some interesting moves seen on the dance floor. The end of the night went out with a bang as the pupils enjoyed the final song, and boarded the coaches for our return to school, a reminder to many of where their time at secondary school had begun, and an optimistic insight into the start of their next chapter.
