Thank you to all employers/providers for supporting our year 10 students with their work experience placements. They had a great week.
A special thank you to Sam Handley at SPE and her team for enabling many of our year 10 students to do a work based learning day at her business on Monday 29th April. She put a terrific informative programme in place for year 10 students and they also had a tour of the factory. She also arranged for our students to participate in workshops run by Rolls-Royce and the Coal Authority as well as also running some for them. A great day was had by all.
Students enjoyed travel workshop sessions run by Ross Paradise and his team Travel Choice and Ride Wise at the Brunts Academy on Tuesday 30thApril. This was an informative session that included bicycle maintenance and consideration of travel choices now and in the future.
Vision WNC ran some excellent work placement days on the 1st and 2nd of May with students getting to participate in college taster sessions in engineering, hairdressing, child care, hospitality, business and an enterprise day. Some of our students also had the opportunity to do work experience with a construction taster week at their construction provision.
Students got to experience army work experience activities on Friday 3rd May. Thank you to W02 M Hancock for organising this and to his team for supporting delivery of this. Despite the weather students enjoyed their day participating in many outdoor and indoor activities run by the Army, learning about apprenticeships and army life.
