During the summer term we began to build links with the KAFCO School and College in Bangladesh, with the aim to create a partnership with an international school that we could both benefit from. We want our students to expand their horizons and increase their culture capital through learning about a culture very different to our own. As well as learning we want our students to teach those in Bangladesh about Britain and its diverse culture and history.
Our partnership started with introducing ourselves by sending letters to the students at KAFCO explaining a little about our school, what we do here and what life in Mansfield and Britain is like. The letters were posted, and we were delighted to see how much the students in Bangladesh enjoyed receiving them. This is only the start and we aim to be able to share more of our rich culture and history whilst learning about Bangladesh in return. It’s not only a great opportunity for our students but also we hope to share our teachers’ expertise with KAFCO whilst learning from them in return through our collaboration.
