On 19th and 20th March 2016, 35 students took part in a DofE Training weekend at The Mill Adventure Base. 9 students participated as part of the Silver programme and 24 followed the Bronze programme.
The weekend consisted of the students learning basic camp craft skills, first aid, navigation (grid references and bearings), how to put a tent, a navigational walk. The Silver students walked in the Peaks and the Bronze walked around the local woods.
On the final day, the students planned out their routes for their practice and final expedition walks.
