Bridging the Gap Between Students And Employers
The inaugural Brunts Student Networking event was hosted by The Director of Marketing & Enterprise, Berni Dickinson from The Evolve Trust and organised by their Intern (and Brunts Student) Cally Lambert.
Sponsored by Mansfield 2020, the event welcomed 25 employers and professionals from the Mansfield and Ashfield areas, providing students aged 16-18 with the unique opportunity to showcase their skills in an authentic business networking environment.
The group were welcomed by Mansfield 2020 Chair and Partner from Fidler and Pepper Solicitors Russell Jones and Brunts Academy’s Head of School Carl Atkin.
As well as enjoying 4 minute networking sessions, Mansfield 103.2 broadcast their breakfast show from the event welcoming both employers and students to interviews, marketing themselves live on air.
The event had excellent feedback. Heidi Duffy MBE Traffic Manager for Nottinghamshire Police, commented “the students were all amazing. A room full of ‘radiators’ not a ‘drain’ in sight…. The future is safe.’
The Director of Marketing & Enterprise from the Evolve Trust Berni Dickinson commented, “It is overwhelming to see just how well the students adapted to a brand new situation and impressed the businesses involved. We at The Evolve Trust are extremely grateful for the time and effort everyone put in to making this event such a success.’
Special thanks go to Cally Lambert for organising the event and …..
