Post 16 Performance Studies students at The Brunts Academy presented a cheque for £229.55 to The Hall Homeless Support Project.
The cheque was presented to Tony Lee from The Hall on Tuesday 19th January with the funds having been raised by the students’ The Snow Queen performances in November.
Tony delivered a master class informing the students about The Hall and showing them a video highlighting the work The Hall undertakes. Following the master class, two students signed up as volunteers to work at The Hall on Monday mornings with a third already volunteering there. The students will now use the information they learnt from Tony to devise their Community performances.
The Hall provides a safe environment for homeless young people to get support, advice and guidance.
Carl Atkin, Head of School, said “The Hall provides fantastic support to young people in the area and as an academy, we have supported The Hall for a number of years to help them continue this work. A huge thank you to Mrs Dubowksi, Mr Morris and the students for raising these funds”.
