The Brunts Academy Musicians rock into Spring Concert

Students from The Brunts Academy showcased their musical talents at their annual Spring Concert on Wednesday 4th May 2016 at St Peter’s Church, Mansfield.
The Concert Band opened with a medley of Queen songs which set the stage for a “wonderful diversity of music” as described by the Rev. David Fudger. The Swing Band, Choir, a cappella group “Vox Humana” as well as soloists and duos all performed to a very high standard.
The diverse programme concluded with a powerful John William’s medley to mark “Star Wars Day” with the iconic brass fanfare of the Star Wars theme ricocheting around the church much to the delight of the large audience.
This has been a busy time for the Academy’s musicians who in April came First and Second in the Mansfield Music and Drama Festival. The Swing Band have been invited to perform at the Winner’s Concert on Sunday 8th May.
David Cooke, Head of Creative and Performing Arts, said of the event “St Peter’s is a wonderful venue and it has been a pleasure to bring our brilliant young musicians to perform there. A huge thank you to all the students and staff for making this another superb event.”
